First seen May 06, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether a type of diabetes medicine called SGLT-2 inhibitors can help control ascites (fluid buildup in the belly) in people with liver cirrhosis and type 2 diabetes. About 40 adults will either get the drug plus standard care or standard care alone for 6 months. The goal is to see if the drug reduces fluid and improves blood sugar control.
