Could a two-pill cocktail heal fatty livers? new study says maybe.

NCT ID NCT05506488

First seen Feb 19, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tested whether a combination of two drugs, dasatinib and quercetin, can reduce liver scarring in people with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and fibrosis. Thirty adults with biopsy-confirmed liver scarring took the drugs or a placebo for 21 weeks. The main goal was to see if fibrosis improved by at least one point on a standard scale without worsening other liver damage.
