First seen Feb 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 22, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This phase 2 trial is testing whether a combination of three oral drugs—selinexor, venetoclax, and dexamethasone—can shrink tumors in people with a specific genetic subtype of multiple myeloma (t(11;14)) that has returned or stopped responding to treatment. About 33 participants will receive the drugs daily. The main goal is to see how many patients achieve a partial or complete response.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Selinexor, venetoclax, and dexamethasone (three drugs taken as pills)

What this could lead to

If this works, it could offer a new treatment option for people with a hard-to-treat form of multiple myeloma that has come back after other therapies.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-phase study (33 people) with no control group, so results may not apply broadly. The drug combination can cause side effects like nausea, fatigue, and low blood counts.
