Hookah haze: secondhand smoke may stiffen arteries in non-smokers
NCT ID NCT04661683
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at how breathing in secondhand hookah smoke or e-hookah vapor affects blood vessel health. Healthy non-smokers aged 21-49 will have their blood flow and artery stiffness measured before and after brief exposure to hookah smoke, e-hookah aerosol, or clean air. The goal is to understand the short-term risks to people who don't smoke but are around hookah use.
