Scientists track SCI patients for a year to uncover hidden causes of weight gain

NCT ID NCT04748835

Summary

This study aimed to understand why people with spinal cord injuries (SCI) often gain weight after leaving the hospital. Researchers followed 42 adults with recent SCI for one year after their rehab stay, checking in at discharge, 6 months, and 12 months. They collected information on diet, home kitchen access, mood, stress, sleep, and physical activity to identify the key factors linked to weight gain.
