Could 3 weeks of radiation be as good as 5? new trial aims to cut arm swelling

NCT ID NCT02912312

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study compares a 3-week radiation schedule to the standard 5-week schedule for breast cancer patients who need radiation to the lymph nodes. The goal is to see if the shorter treatment works just as well to prevent cancer from coming back, while causing less arm swelling and other side effects. About 805 people with early-stage breast cancer are taking part.
