First seen Apr 11, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study looks at whether adding a saltwater rinse (saline irrigation) through a chest tube can improve the standard treatment for people with infected fluid around the lungs (pleural infection). About 60 adults will take part. The goal is to see if this extra step reduces the number of clot-busting doses needed and lowers the chance of needing more procedures.
