New hope for teens with HIV: counseling program targets suicide risk

Summary

This study tests a program called Friendship Bench + Safety Planning to see if it can reduce suicidal thoughts and behaviors in teenagers living with HIV. About 60 teens aged 13-19 in Lilongwe, Malawi will either get this program or standard care. The goal is to see if the program is practical, acceptable, and helpful for both mental health and staying engaged in HIV treatment.
