First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study looks at whether using a phone app called the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) can help adults who are dealing with both substance use problems and past trauma. About 100 people in a residential treatment program will either use the real SSP app or a fake version for a week, along with their usual therapy. Researchers will check if the app helps reduce symptoms of anxiety, stress, and post-traumatic stress.
