First seen Dec 12, 2025 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study is testing whether robotic surgery is a safe and effective option for people with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
robotic surgery
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that robotic surgery is a safe and effective option for IBD patients, potentially improving recovery and outcomes.
What could go wrong
This is an early feasibility study with only 100 participants, so results may not apply to all patients. Robotic surgery also carries standard surgical risks like infection or bleeding.
