Robot vs human hands: which surgery is better for pancreas tumors?
NCT ID NCT06939023
Summary
This international study compares two minimally invasive surgery techniques for removing benign or pre-cancerous tumors from the left side of the pancreas. Researchers will randomly assign 256 eligible patients to either laparoscopic (surgeon-controlled instruments) or robot-assisted surgery to determine which approach leads to better recovery and fewer complications. The study measures outcomes like hospital stay length, complication rates, and costs over 90 days after surgery.
