First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tests whether a plant-based starch, tailored to each child's needs, can improve gut health in 80 children with Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis. The goal is to boost production of a helpful substance called butyrate and restore a healthier balance of gut bacteria. Participants will take the starch or a placebo for a period, and researchers will check stool and blood samples to see if it works.
