Weight training may boost strength in seniors with heart failure

Summary

This study tests whether an 8-week machine-based resistance training program can improve muscle strength and physical function in older adults (60+) who have both chronic heart failure and sarcopenia (age-related muscle loss). About 146 participants will be randomly assigned to either the exercise program or usual care. The main goal is to see if handgrip strength and sit-to-stand speed improve.
