First seen Feb 18, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study looks at whether an 8-week machine-based resistance training program can improve muscle strength and physical function in older adults (60+) who have both chronic heart failure and sarcopenia (age-related muscle loss). About 146 participants will be randomly assigned to either the training program or usual care. The main goal is to see if handgrip strength improves, with additional measures like sit-to-stand speed and walking pace.
