First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 33 times
Summary
This study tests a new treatment for women with a return of breast cancer after prior lumpectomy and radiation. Instead of standard radiation after surgery, patients receive a single, high-dose radiation session directly to the tumor before surgery. The goal is to shrink the tumor, reduce side effects, and improve cosmetic results. The trial will enroll 25 women aged 50 and older with small, low-risk tumors.
