Kidney artery stenting put to the test in High-Risk patients

NCT ID NCT05834803

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study looks at whether opening narrowed kidney arteries with a small balloon and stent, plus standard medications, works better than medications alone for high-risk patients. About 80 participants with severe kidney artery narrowing and either hard-to-control high blood pressure or declining kidney function will be randomly assigned to the procedure or a sham (fake) procedure. The main goal is to see if the procedure improves blood pressure and kidney function over 6 months.
