New hope for ALS cramps: drug trial aims to ease pain and improve daily life

Summary
This study tests a drug called ranolazine to see if it safely reduces muscle cramps and improves quality of life in people with ALS. About 72 adults with ALS who have frequent cramps will receive either ranolazine or a placebo for 28 weeks. Researchers will track cramp frequency, severity, and overall function to see if the drug offers meaningful relief.
