Faster radiation before surgery tested for rare cancers

NCT ID NCT05109494

First seen Dec 30, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study is testing whether a shorter, more intense course of radiation before surgery is as safe and effective as the standard longer course for soft tissue sarcomas. It will involve 30 adults with these rare cancers, comparing five treatments over 1-2 weeks to the usual 25 treatments over 5 weeks. The goal is to see if the shorter schedule controls the tumor just as well while potentially reducing side effects and shortening the time to surgery.
