Mesothelioma radiation trial ends early: limited results

NCT ID NCT04158141

First seen Apr 25, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tested whether adding targeted radiation therapy to surgery and chemotherapy could help people with early-stage malignant pleural mesothelioma live longer. The trial was stopped early and only enrolled 16 people, so it is not clear if the radiation helped. The approach aimed to kill remaining cancer cells after surgery, but the early closure means we have limited information.
