Can your phone help you quit smoking? texas study tests Text-Message support for young adults

NCT ID NCT05958667

Summary

This study is testing whether a bilingual text and chat program called Quitxt can help young Latino adults in Texas quit smoking. Researchers will enroll 1,200 smokers aged 18-29 and randomly assign half to use the Quitxt program and half to receive standard state quit-smoking information. The goal is to see if the tailored, interactive Quitxt program leads to higher quit rates over six months, which could reduce future cancer and disease risk.
