First seen May 15, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study tested whether interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT) works as well as two established therapies—prolonged exposure and relaxation—for people with chronic post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). About 110 adults with at least moderately severe PTSD took part. The goal was to see if IPT could ease PTSD symptoms and depression, offering another effective treatment option.
