NCT ID NCT06230757

First seen Jan 22, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This small pilot study tested whether psilocybin, the active ingredient in magic mushrooms, combined with psychological support could help people with treatment-resistant depression who have lost the ability to feel pleasure (anhedonia). Twenty adults with major depressive disorder that hadn't responded to other treatments took part. The study measured changes in self-reported anhedonia scores to see if this approach could ease this specific symptom.
