Scientists grow Mini-Livers from patient bile to crack disease code

NCT ID NCT04753996

Summary

This study aims to collect bile samples and medical information from people with Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC) and people without liver disease. Researchers will use these samples to grow tiny 3D liver-like structures called organoids in the lab. By studying these organoids, they hope to better understand what causes PSC and how it progresses to serious conditions like liver cancer.
