New study aims to find gentler radiation for prostate cancer

NCT ID NCT05786742

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study compares two radiation therapy schedules for men with localized prostate cancer. One uses fewer, stronger doses (ultra-hypofractionated) and the other uses slightly more, moderate doses. Both are combined with a brachytherapy boost. The goal is to see which approach causes fewer side effects while still controlling the cancer. About 205 men will take part, and researchers will track their health for up to 10 years.
