First seen Mar 09, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study checked if the amount of propofol (an anesthesia drug) in children's breath matches the amount in their blood during eye surgery. 32 children having planned eye surgery took part. Researchers compared breath measurements with blood samples and brain activity monitors. The goal was to see if breath testing could be a painless way to track anesthesia levels.
