NCT ID NCT07443410

First seen Mar 15, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study looks at whether taking probiotics (with or without vitamin B12) can improve the health of the mouth's bacteria and reduce gum disease in adults with severe periodontitis. Participants will receive standard gum treatment plus either a probiotic lozenge, a probiotic with vitamin B12 drops, or no supplement for 3 months. The goal is to see if these supplements help the standard treatment work better by changing the bacteria in the mouth.
