New study tests natural blood clot vs. collagen for faster wisdom tooth recovery
NCT ID NCT07530068
First seen Apr 29, 2026 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study looked at two ways to help the socket heal after removing impacted wisdom teeth: using a patient's own platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) or an absorbable collagen sponge. Twenty-nine healthy adults with similar wisdom teeth on both sides of their jaw took part. The goal was to see which method led to less pain, swelling, and better bone healing in the nearby tooth.
