Mouthwash in pregnancy may save tiny newborns in nepal

NCT ID NCT07553286

First seen Apr 28, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests if a simple, low-cost oral health routine—daily antiseptic mouthwash and brushing—can reduce the number of small or early babies in rural Nepal. About 2,280 pregnant women will take part, receiving either the oral health package or standard care. If it works, this could be an easy way to improve newborn survival and health.
