Mouthwash for moms: could it save newborns in nepal?

NCT ID NCT07553286

First seen Apr 28, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a simple oral health program—including daily antiseptic mouthwash and brushing instruction—can reduce the number of babies born too early or too small in rural Nepal. About 2,280 pregnant women will take part. If it works, this low-cost approach could improve newborn survival and development in areas where these problems are common.
