Summary
This study tested whether giving an antibiotic (clindamycin) to pregnant women with bacterial vaginosis (a common vaginal infection) before 13 weeks could reduce the chance of late miscarriage or very early preterm birth. Over 3,100 pregnant women took part. The goal was to see if early treatment could prevent serious pregnancy complications.
