First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tested whether giving an antibiotic (clindamycin) to pregnant women with bacterial vaginosis (a common vaginal infection) before 13 weeks of pregnancy could lower the chance of very early preterm birth. Over 3,000 pregnant women took part. The goal was to see if early treatment could prevent late miscarriages and very early deliveries.
