Treadmill training before knee surgery may cut fall risk

NCT ID NCT05736666

First seen Feb 12, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tests if a special treadmill training program before total knee replacement surgery can help prevent falls afterward. People planning knee surgery will either get fall-prevention tips alone or tips plus two weeks of treadmill training that mimics tripping. Researchers will track falls for one year to see if the training group falls less.
