New study investigates hidden immune risks of pregnancy after lung transplant
NCT ID NCT05689905
First seen Mar 21, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study looked at 11 children born to women who had lung transplants to see if shared immune markers (HLA types) between the child and the lung donor increase the mother's risk of organ rejection. Researchers collected cheek swabs from the children to compare their HLA types with the mother and donor. The goal is to better understand pregnancy risks and create safer recommendations for transplant patients.
