New approach may let breast cancer patients get reconstruction right away

Summary
This study tests giving radiotherapy before mastectomy instead of after, so women with advanced breast cancer can have immediate reconstruction using their own tissue. The goal is to see if this approach is safe and has fewer wound problems than the standard delayed reconstruction. The study includes 60 women who responded well to chemotherapy.
