Gene test before kidney transplant could personalize Anti-Rejection drugs

NCT ID NCT06701825

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study tests whether doing a genetic test before a kidney transplant can help doctors choose the best starting dose of tacrolimus, a drug that prevents organ rejection. About 114 adults waiting for a kidney transplant will be randomly assigned to either standard care or a genetically guided dosing strategy. The goal is to see if the genetic approach helps more patients reach the right drug level quickly, reduces rejection, and saves money.
