Gratitude letters boost mood in new MS patients, small study finds
NCT ID NCT06891937
First seen Jan 26, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study tested whether doing simple positive psychology exercises—like writing a thank-you letter or recalling a past success—could help people recently diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) feel more hopeful and improve their quality of life. Thirty adults with MS diagnosed within the last two years took part. Half did the exercises for five weeks, while the other half waited. The researchers checked if the exercises were easy to do and if they boosted mood and emotional well-being.
