Diabetes drugs may fight oral cancer risk

Summary
This study tests whether a combination of two diabetes drugs (pioglitazone and metformin) can shrink or improve precancerous patches in the mouth called oral leukoplakia. About 36 adults with high-risk lesions will take the pills twice daily for 12 weeks. The goal is to see if the treatment reduces lesion size and improves tissue health, potentially lowering cancer risk.
