Robotic pets may help ICU patients pass breathing tests

Summary

This study tests whether a robotic pet companion can reduce anxiety and improve success rates of breathing trials in ICU patients on ventilators. 24 adults who have already failed one breathing trial will receive the robotic pet intervention. The goal is to ease anxiety and help them breathe on their own.
