Scientists map how damaged muscles work to build smarter rehab robots
NCT ID NCT06608121
Summary
This study aimed to create mathematical models that describe how much force weakened arm muscles can still produce in people with stroke, multiple sclerosis, or spinal cord injury. Researchers measured muscle effort in 32 patients to build these personalized models. The goal is to use this knowledge to guide better rehabilitation and help develop future robotic assistance systems that adapt to a patient's remaining abilities.
