First seen Mar 03, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study tests a new, personalized brain stimulation technique called HD-tDCS to help people with long-term (chronic) pain. Researchers will enroll 144 adults who have had pain for at least six months. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either real stimulation or a placebo (sham) treatment over five sessions in one week. The goal is to see if this targeted brain zapping can reduce pain and improve daily function, with follow-ups at 3 weeks and 3 months.
