First seen Apr 12, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study compares two diabetes medications, pioglitazone and empagliflozin, to see which better controls blood sugar in people whose diabetes is caused by chronic or recurrent acute pancreatitis. About 40 adults aged 18-80 will take one of the drugs, and researchers will measure changes in blood sugar, insulin, and body composition over time. The goal is to find the most effective treatment for this specific type of diabetes.
