First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tested whether adding the immunotherapy drug pembrolizumab (Keytruda) to standard chemotherapy (gemcitabine and cisplatin) could shrink tumors more effectively before bladder cancer surgery. 39 adults with muscle-invasive bladder cancer received the combination before having their bladder removed. The main goal was to see how many patients had their cancer stage reduced to below stage 2 at the time of surgery.
