Does heating breast milk help or hurt tiny preemies? retrospective study investigates
NCT ID NCT07411872
Summary
This study looked back at medical records of 900 very small premature babies to see if feeding them pasteurized (heat-treated) breast milk versus raw breast milk affected their health. Researchers compared rates of serious complications and death, while also checking if the baby's sex made a difference. The goal was to gather evidence to help guide feeding recommendations for these fragile infants.
