Does heating breast milk help or hurt tiny preemies?
NCT ID NCT07411872
Summary
This study looked back at medical records to understand whether pasteurizing (heat-treating) breast milk affects the health of very small premature babies. Researchers compared babies fed raw breast milk versus pasteurized breast milk from mothers who carry a common virus. The goal was to see if one feeding method leads to better survival and fewer serious health problems.
