New study tests Nerve-Freezing vs. Nerve-Heating to ease Soldiers' chest pain

NCT ID NCT07380789

Summary

This study is testing two minimally invasive procedures to help manage severe, acute chest pain in adults who have suffered combat-related injuries in Ukraine. It aims to see if using extreme cold (cryoablation) or controlled heat (radiofrequency ablation) to block pain signals from specific nerves is effective and safe. The research will measure changes in pain levels, the need for opioid painkillers, breathing function, and overall quality of life.
