First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a single spray of local anesthetic inside the chest can reduce pain caused by drainage tubes after lung surgery. About 300 adults having lung surgery will be randomly assigned to receive one of two numbing medicines or a placebo spray. Doctors will check pain levels and sleep quality for three days after surgery to see which approach works best.
