Spray away the pain: new study tests chest tube relief

Summary
This study tests if spraying a local anesthetic inside the chest can ease pain caused by drainage tubes after lung surgery. About 300 adults having lung surgery will be randomly assigned to receive one of two numbing sprays or a placebo spray. Researchers will measure pain levels and sleep quality for three days after surgery.
