Shoulder surgery pain relief showdown: catheter vs. single shot

NCT ID NCT05868330

First seen Nov 10, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study compares two methods of pain control after total shoulder replacement: a continuous nerve block catheter versus a single injection of long-lasting medication. About 56 adults having reverse shoulder replacement will be randomly assigned to one of the two groups. The goal is to see which approach provides better pain relief and function on the first day after surgery.
