New study aims to ease pain after lung surgery

NCT ID NCT06810375

First seen Apr 16, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study compares two types of nerve blocks (erector spinae vs. intercostal) using a long-lasting anesthetic to control pain after lung surgery. About 120 adults having video-assisted lung procedures will be enrolled. The goal is to see which block provides better pain relief and reduces the need for strong painkillers like morphine.
