First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tested two different numbing injections—external oblique intercostal plane block and transversus abdominis plane block—to see which one controls pain better after open kidney surgery. Forty adults took part, and researchers measured how much extra pain medicine they needed in the first 24 hours. The goal is to find a more effective way to manage pain and reduce the need for strong painkillers.
